According to multiple reports, Boston College and UMass are close to an agreement that will have the two schools compete in football three times, once each in 2014, 2016, and 2018. The dates and locations of the games is yet to be determined, but it's believed that two of the games will be played at Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill, the other will be played at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
UMass will be moving up to play FBS football next year in the Mid-American Conference and will play a full schedule, though they will not be eligible to play in the MAC Championship Game or a Bowl Game until 2013.
Boston College defeated UMass this past weekend 45-17 thanks to a pair of defensive touchdowns and four Minutemen turnovers. It was the first meeting between the two schools since 2007 when the Matt Ryan led Eagles defeated UMass 24-14 at Alumni Stadium.
The Minutemen haven't beaten an FBS opponent since 1984 when they defeated Ball State.
