Former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has never been shy about sharing his opinions regarding his former team. Today, Schilling made one his occasional appearances on WEEI and shared some poignant views on the state of the struggling Sox. With their Wild Card lead down to just 2 games following a split of a doubleheader yesterday with Baltimore, Schilling told the radio station that he doesn't believe that the team is going to make the playoffs this season.
↵Schilling's comments, of course, were bound to reach the ears of the team and its manager Terry Francona before tonight's game with the Orioles. When the Red Sox manager was asked about the comments, he replied in a very frank manner.
↵"I don’t give a [expletive]. I didn’t even know what the hell you were talking about."
↵Are the Sox feeling the pressure of their late season swoon? Francona's comments would seem to indicate that they are.
