The Red Sox were 0-8 with runners in scoring position on Saturday and failed to capitalize on a rookie pitcher who struggled with control.  Hope is not lost though, as the Sox can essentially clinch the Wild Card if Tim Wakefield can out-duel David Price on Sunday.

ACC Extends Formal Invitations To Pittsburgh, Syracuse: 14 Is The New 12 - BC Interruption

The ACC released a formal statement today welcoming the newest members of the ACC into the conference.  The addition of Pittsburgh and Syracuse allows the conference to expand it's footprint all the way up and down the East Coast and bridges the gap between Maryland and Massachusetts.  A full press conference is scheduled for 9:30am Sunday.↵

Pitt, Syracuse Apply For ACC Membership - The UConn Blog↵

The news of Pittsburgh and Syracuse's plan to jump ship from the Big East to the ACC is concerning for schools like UConn who may be left without a home once the wheels of conference realignment stop turning.  The best chance for the Huskies might be for the another conference to try and raid the ACC and hope they get invited to fill the void.

The Revs game didn't go so well against the Timbers, but the teams final roster for the season was released complete with salaries and statuses.  To the surprise of nobody, the two highest paid players on team are Shalrie Joseph and Benny Feilhaber.
