Bad News Continues For BC Eagles

On Saturday night in Orlando, the Eagles suffered one of their worst losses to a non-BCS team in nearly two decades. After initially jumping out to a 3-0 lead on a field goal by kicker Nate Freese, the Knights of Central Florida ran off 30 straight points over the final three quarters to blow away the visiting Eagles.

The news got worse today as cornerback CJ Jones, who was injured on the opening kick-off, was diagnosed as lost for the season. Jones is the 2nd player lost for the year for the Eagles and the 4th member of the secondary to either be suspended or injured. Jones will likely be replaced by redshirt freshman James McCaffery who played his high school ball at BB&N in Cambridge.

As if that weren’t bad enough, BC Athletic Director Gene DeFilippo announced that new offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers would be taking a leave of absence due to health concerns. No specifics were given and it is not known when he might return.
