While trying to make a tackle following a Tom Brady interception, Wes Welker injured his neck and left last nights game against the Detroit Lions. This morning according to Ian Rappaport of the Boston Herald, Welker was feeling better.
Welker left Ford Field without the need for a neck brace or any type of help from the team trainers but will be re-evaluated tomorrow.
While coach Bill Belichick didn't have an update on the condition of Welker, quarterback Tom Brady talked about his pro-bowl wide receiver and what he means to the team.
"He’s a tough guy," Brady said. "There’s nobody tougher than Wes Welker. He’s mentally, physically, he’s as good as there is. He’s a huge part of our offense."
Welker led all Patriots' receivers with three catches for 71 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
