Chase Rettig was on-target once again, completing 18-of-25 passes for 231 yards and one touchdown in the Boston College Eagles' second scrimmage of the preseason on Wednesday at Alumni Stadium.
The Eagles' offense was firing on all cylinders, scoring four touchdowns in the scrimmage - three on the ground and one through the air. In addition, the Eagles' kickers made all four attempted field goals.
Rettig was nearly flawless to start the scrimmage, connecting with his receivers on 14-of-16 passes for 191 yards. Nate Freese connected on three field goals from 22, 25 and 20 yards, respectively, in the Eagles' first three drives.
Rettig's only touchdown of the came came after the break on a 17-yard touchdown pass to Chris Pantale, capping off a 10-play 74- yard drive. Pantale had six catchers for 66 yards and a score.
Mike Marsocvetra led the Eagles' offense on a six-play, 72-yard drive that Taj Kimble capped off with a 26-yard touchdown run. Marscovetra was 11-for-15 with 155 yards and had two passes of more than 50 yards to wideout Donte Elliot, who had three catches for 114 yards.
Andre Williams, Rolandan Finch and Kimble each had over 10 carries. rushing yards on 11 carries. Kimble led all backs with 95 yards on 11 carries while Finch had 66 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Williams recorded 62 rushing yards on 19 carries.
Luke Kuechly led all Eagles' defenders with 10 tackles while nick Clancy had seven and both Kevin Pierre-Louis and Okechukwu Okoroha had six. Thirteen players recorded four tackles or more.
