Patriots vs. Jaguars: Patriots Take 7-6 Lead Coming Out Of First Quarter

At the end of the first quarter of the New England Patriots’ first preseason game, they are leading the Jacksonville Jaguars 7-6.

The Jaguars scored field goals on their first two posessions to give them the 6-0 lead. The Patriots answered with a Stevan Ridley touchdown and Stephan Gostkowski extra point to take the 7-6 lead.

Patriots quarterback Brian Hoyer attemped to take advantage of a bad punt by the Jaguars’ Matt Turk in the waning seconds of the first quarter, handing off to Aaron Hernandez. Hernandez got a nice chunk of yards, but the Jaguars’ defense finally put a stop on him to end the first.

Hoyer went 5 for 6 with 59 yards for the Patriots in the first quarter.
