Hockey and basketball players who aren't big fans of fan interaction might want to avoid the home locker rooms at Madison Square Garden in the foreseeable future.
The world's most famous arena, which is in the midst of a $35 million offseason renovation, is installing a glass wall along the walkway from the floor to the locker room that both the Knicks and Rangers players will traverse. A select group of season ticket holders - 800 of them, to be exact - will have access to the glass, allowing them to view their favorite players for just a few more seconds as they head to or from the locker rooms, according to CNBC's Darren Rovell.
The Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets have a similar setup in their arenas, although they don't promote them as heavily.
No word on how the venture will fare outside of the Lone Star State.
