Chad Ochocinco Traded To New England Patriots For Two Draft Picks

Chad Ochocinco has been acquired by the New England Patriots in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals in exchange for two late round draft picks in 2012 and 2013. Ochocinco has also reportedly agreed to a restructured three-year contract extension from the Patriots.

Ochocinco has been tied to the Patriots before, and is a known supporter of Pats head coach Bill Belichick, and the feeling is mutual for Belichick. In 10 NFL seasons, Ochocinco has 10,783 receiving yards and 66 touchdowns in 151 games - all of which he has played with the Bengals. Last season, Ochocinco had 831 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 14 games for a disappointing Bengals team.

His break out season came in the 2002-03 season, racking up 1,166 receiving yards and five touchdowns in 16 games. The very next season, he collected 1,355 receiving yards and a career-high 10 touchdowns. Ochocinco has recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in seven seasons and seven or more touchdowns in six seasons.
