MLB All-Star Game 2011: AL, NL Scoreless Through Three Innings

The 2011 MLB All-Star Game is scoreless through three innings, but we’ve already had a local storyline take shape, with Boston Red Sox ace Josh Beckett being scratched from his scheduled appearance in the second inning due to a problem in warm-ups.

Beckett reportedly felt something in his left knee, which he tweaked in his last start with the Red Sox, while warming up for his appearance, and was subsequently scratched. No official word has been released on what went wrong.

Adrian Gonzalez and David Ortiz are both 0-for-1 after their first at-bats.

The NL has the game’s only hit, which came from Lance Berkman. Roy Halladay pitched two scoreless innings, striking out one, for the NL. Halladay’s teammate, Cliff Lee, also tossed a scoreless frame in the second.

On the AL side, Jared Weaver pitched a scoreless inning in the first, walking one and striking out one. David Robertson tossed a scoreless innings as well for the AL, surrendering one hit. In the third inning, Michael Pineda struck out two batters for the AL.
