Luis Exposito has been called up from Class AAA Pawtucket and Bobby Jenks was placed on the 15-day disabled list
The move to call up Exposito is a result of Jarrod Saltalamacchia's illness. Jason Varitek is playing in place of Saltalamacchia on Wednesday night, catching Tim Wakefield.
Jenks is 2-2 with a 6.57 ERA, 14 strikeouts and 11 walks in 15 games this season.
