2011 NHL Mock Draft: Ryan Murphy To Boston Bruins At No. 9 Overall

Ryan Murphy, a 5'10", 160-pound defenseman from the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL, is projected the the Boston Bruins at No. 9 overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in the latest mock draft from MyNHLDraft.com.

Murphy, who was born on March 31, 1993, played two seasons with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. Last season with the Rangers, Murphy played in 63 games and had 26 goals and 53 assists for 79 points. In addition, Murphy had a plus/minus of plus-22 and recorded 36 penalty minutes.

In 2009-10, Murphy scored six goals and had 33 assists for 39 points in 62 games with Kitchener. He had a plus/minus of minus-3 and registered 22 penalty minutes.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is projected to be drafted No. 1 overall by the Edmonton Oilers by MyNHLDraft.com. Nugent-Hopkins is a six-foot, 170-pound center from Red Deer of the Western Hockey League.

In the second round, the Bruins' are projected to take Rickard Rakell, a six-foot, 190-pound right winger from the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL, with the No. 40 overall pick.

Rakell was born on May 5, 1993 and had 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points in 49 games last season for the Whalers, the same team that Tyler Seguin played for before being drafted by the Bruins with the No. 2 overall pick in 2010.
