Boston College Football To Play Miami On Thanksgiving Friday

For the first time since Doug Flutie's game-winning Hail Mary touchdown in 1984, the Boston College Eagles and Miami Hurricanes will meet on the Friday after Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25) at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL at 3:30 p.m. EDT.

The game will be telecast nationally on ABC, and the Eagles will look for their first win in Miami since the day after Thanksgiving Day in 1984.

This year's game marks the first time Boston College and Miami have met on a Friday since the famed "Flutie Miracle" game of 1984. That day Boston College Heisman Trophy winning-quarterback Doug Flutie won the game with a last-play "Hail Mary" pass play which was caught by BC's Gerald Phelan in the end zone for a touchdown, giving the Eagles a 47-45 victory at the old Orange Bowl Stadium. The dramatic win by the Eagles is still their only victory over Miami in Miami. (via theACC.com)

Miami leads the all-time series 24-3 against Boston College, with the first meeting between the two schools coming in 1955. The Hurricanes were an impressive 15-1 against the Eagles in the old Orange Bowl Stadium, and the two teams have never played a game against each other at Sun Life Stadium.
