Zdeno Chara Hospitalized For Dehydration On Friday Night

Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was hospitalized for dehydration late on Friday night, according to an announcement from the team on Saturday morning.

Chara, who recorded five shots in 25 minutes and six seconds of ice time in the Bruins' game one loss to Montreal, is expected to play in the Bruins game against the Canadiens on Saturday evening, according to head coach Claude Julien.

"Until our medical staff tells us he can't go, he's in tonight," Julien said. (via WEEI)

Chara finished the regular season with 14 goals, 30 assists and 44 points for Boston. In addition, the Bruins' defender had a plus/minus of plus-33 and racked up 88 penalty minutes on the season.

In five seasons with the Bruins, all of which he has served as team captain, Chara has amassed 68 goals, 164 assists and 232 points. Chara has a grand total of 125 goals and 407 points in 13 NHL seasons.
