2011 WNBA Mock Draft: Maya Moore Consensus Top Pick Entering Monday's Draft

Maya Moore will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest women's college basketball players of all time following her historic stint at the University of Connecticut. The next task at hand for Moore is to leave her mark on the WNBA.

Moore is the consensus No. 1 overall pick entering the 2011 WNBA Draft on Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. EDT. (ESPN). The Minnesota Lynx have the top pick in this years draft, meaning that Moore will most likely be taking her talents up north. Swish Appeal, SB Nation's women's college and professional basketball blog, was very succinct in its analysis of Moore.

1. Minnesota Lynx: Maya Moore, F, Connecticut Huskies

Other votes: none.

Boxscores rank: 1

Commentary: We have nothing further to say about Moore. She's good.

Swish Appeal projects Liz Cambage of Australia to be drafted second overall by the Tulsa Shock and Gonzaga's Courtney Vandersloot to be drafted third overall by the Chicago Sky. To view Swish Appeal's complete 2011 WNBA mock draft, click here.

As for the Connecticut Sun, New England's only WNBA team, they have two picks in this year's draft, but none are in the first round. The Sun have fourth pick in the second round (16th overall) and the fourth pick in the third round (28th overall).

Keep an eye out for local women's college basketball star Carolyn Swords of Boston College, who will most likely be drafted on Monday. Swords recently completed a terrific season with the Eagles in which she was an AP All-American honorable mention and a member of the All-ACC First Team. Swords averaged 17.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in 33 games this season, all while leading the nation in shooting with a remarkable 71.4% clip from the field.
