Bruins' Steve Kampfer To Miss Week With Concussion

The Boston Bruins' defensive corps took another hit on Thursday evening when rookie defenseman Steven Kampfer suffered a concussion.

Kampfer, who had been finding regular playing time on the blue line filling in for the previously injured Andrew Ference, suffered a hit from Tampa Bay Lightening center Mattias Ritola in the second period of Thursday night's 2-1 win at the TD Garden. Kampfer did not return to the game. Prior to his second period hit, Kampfer scored a goal on his first and only shot of the game.

According to WEEI's DJ Bean, Bruins head coach Claude Julien confirmed with the media at Friday morning's practice that Kampfer would miss a week due to the mild concussion.
