The first half of the 2011 Final Four bracket is set in stone after Butler upset Florida and UConn edged Arizona in the Elite Eight on Saturday. The final half of the Final Four bracket will be determined on Sunday when Kansas faces VCU and Kentucky battles North Carolina.
In the first game of the day, No. 1 seed Kansas faces No. 11 seed Virginia Commonwealth at 2 p.m. EDT (CBS). It appears that the Jayhawks have the easiest path to the Final Four, yet in this tournament, nothing is guaranteed.
Kansas touts a terrific trio in brothers Marcus and Markieff Morris and Brady Morningstar. The group alone is capable of completely taking over any game. While VCU has proven to be a tough out in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, this may be the last stop for the Rams on their magical tourney run, according to The Sports Network.
Those doubting VCU's legitimacy have been made a fool round after round, but the Rams are in for their toughest test of the Tournament thus far. Similarly, it is likely the Jayhawks, who have largely coasted, will receive their stiffest challenge to date. In the end, though, the sheer precision and execution of the Kansas offense should prove to much for spunky VCU.
Sports Network Predicted Outcome: Kansas 78, VCU 73
In the second and final tilt on Sunday, No. 4 seed Kentucky faces No. 2 seed North Carolina. The Tar Heels are powered by standouts Tyler Zeller, John Henson and freshman sensation Harrison Barnes. As for the Wildcats, they feature a solid duo of Brandon Knight and Terrance Jones, who are also capable of dominating games. But in the end, The Sports Network predicts that the Tar Heel's front court is too powerful for Kentucky to overcome.
Ohio State seemed to be not only the class of the East Region but the best team in the entire tournament. With the Buckeyes out of the way, the Heels and 'Cats are ready to do battle in what promises to be an epic showdown. In the end, expect the front line of UNC to be the difference.
Sports Network Predicted Outcome: North Carolina 78, Kentucky 74
