2011 NCAA Tournament: Butler Upsets Florida, UConn Edges Arizona In Elite Eight On Saturday

For the second straight year, the Butler Bulldogs advanced to the Final Four after their 74-70 overtime win over No. 2 seed Florida on Saturday afternoon. In the day's second game, No. 3 seed UConn survived a scare against No. 5 Arizona, winning 65-63 on Saturday evening.

Florida took a 33-32 lead into the locker room, but was outscored by Butler, 28-27, in the second half. The Bulldogs outscored the Gators 14-11 in overtime to advance to the Final Four.

Shelvin Mack scored 27 to lead Butler, which shot 40 percent from the field (24-for-60). Matt Howard finished with 14 points and Khyle Marshall added 10 points and seven rebounds off the bench for the Bulldogs.

Vernon Macklin paced the Gators with 25 points and five rebounds. Kenny Boynton scored 17 points and Alex Tyus finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Florida, which shot 43.9 percent from the field.

In the final game of the day, No. 3 seed UConn defeated No. 5 seed Arizona, 65-53, to advance to the Final Four. Kemba Walker scored 20 points and Jeremy Lamb had 19 points for the Huskies, who outscored the Wildcats 38-33 in the second half. Derrick Williams had 20 points in the losing effort for Arizona.
