Late Friday night, in the second round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament, No. 1 seed Kansas thoroughly dismantled No. 16 Boston University, 72-53. It was really never a very close game, and surely the Terriers, somewhere deep down, must have known beforehand that the odds were nearly insurmountable -- after all, no 16-seed has ever brought down a No. 1 seed.
As positive as they may have been before the game, reality eventually caught up, and did so in rapid fashion. In fact, you can pinpoint the exact moment head coach Patrick Chambers and company accepted defeat at the hands of the Jayhawks. It came at the 7:36 mark of the second half, when Kansas went up 58-43. Yes, it was that exact moment -- captured in gif form, forever and always -- when the Terriers realized it was a futile effort.

That is the saddest timeout ever taken.
