The 2011 NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament bracket has been finalized, and Boston College received a No. 1 seed in the West Region after finishing the regular season at 30-7-1 (20-6-1 Hockey East) and won the 2011 Hockey East Tournament title game on Saturday night at TD Garden.
Yale received the overall No. 1 seed, with North Dakota and Miami (OH) the top seeds, in that order.
Joining the Eagles in this year's Big Dance are Merrimack College and the University of New Hampshire, which received a No. 2 and No. 4 seed in the Northeast Region, respectively.
With a much smaller field than the 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, the 2011 NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament opens play on Friday afternoon when No. 2 seed Union faces No. 3 seed Minnesota-Duluth at 3 p.m. EDT (ESPNU).
Boston College opens up the tournament on Friday, March 25th at 9 p.m. EDT against No. 4 seed Colorado, and the game will be broadcast on ESPNU. UNH squares off against overall No. 1 seed Miami (OH) on Saturday at 4 p.m. EDT (ESPNU) while Merrimack meets No. 3 seed Notre Dame on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. EDT (ESPN3.com).
