2011 NCAA Tournament: Connecticut Earns No. 3 Seed In West Region

Led by Kemba Walker, the Connecticut Huskies won an unprecedented five games in five days to win the Big East Championship Saturday night. Less than 24 hours later, when the 2011 NCAA Tournament bracket was released, they were rewarded with a No. 3 seed.

The Huskies are the No. 3 seed in the West Region, where they'll take on the No. 14 Bucknell Bison on Thursday, Mar. 17, at the Verizon Center in Washington, DC. The Bison have lost only twice since Dec. 1, going 22-2 over that span.

If UConn can advance past the Bison -- don't forget, it Bucknell, seed as a No. 14, that knocked off No. 3 Kansas in 2005 -- the Huskies would get the winner of No. 6 Cincinnati and No. 11 Missouri in what is now the third round.

West Region

1 Duke vs. 16 Hampton
8 Michigan vs. 9 Tennessee
5 Arizona vs. 12 Memphis
4 Texas vs. 13 Oakland
6 Cincinnati vs. 11 Missouri
3 Connecticut vs. 14 Bucknell
7 Temple vs. 10 Penn State
2 San Diego State vs. 15 Northern Colorado
