Alex Murphy, a 6-foot-8 junior forward at St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass., has committed to play for Coach Mike Krzyzewski and the Duke Blue Devils (Class of 2012). Murphy, currently ranked as the no. 11 player in the nation according to Scout.com, chose Duke over Florida and Boston College.
He told Fox Sports' Jeff Goodman about his decision, and why he picked the Blue Devils.
"Ultimately, it came down to my relationship with Coach K," Murphy said. "I went down last year and visited earlier this year and just felt at home. I felt comfortable with the players and coaches - and felt like there's no better place. It was clear to me."
Alex Murphy's brother, Erik, is a sophomore for the Florida Gators, a team that was the first to begin recruiting Alex.
"I had such a good relationship with Coach Donovan, obviously my brother, and a lot of their players. That was hard for me. It basically came down to them and Duke."
Murphy is first member of Duke's Class of 2012.
