Kendrick Perkins has a strained MCL and will likely sit out the remaining three games of the Boston Celtics' road trip, this according to CSNNE's Jessica Camerato. Perkins left Tuesday night's win over the Warriors early in the third quarter with what was diagnosed as a bruised knee at the time.
He is listed as day-to-day, but is expected to miss the games against the Nuggets (Thurs.), Clippers (Sat.) and the now Deron Williams-less Jazz (Mon.).
Perkins is just the latest Celtics big man that will miss time: they're already without centers Shaquille O'Neal and Jermaine O'Neal because of injuries.
Perkins of course is not a stranger to knee injuries -- he missed the first few months of the 2010-11 season while he recovered from a devastating right knee injury that he suffered in Game 6 of the 2010 NBA Final. He was originally expected to be out until after the All-Star break, but Perkins made his season debut Jan. 25.
In 12 games this season, he has averaged seven points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes per game.
