FCS Playoffs 2011 Round 2 Score-Results: Maine Advances To Quarterfinals With 34-12 Victory Over Appalachian St.

Quarterback Warren Smith tossed for 250 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to help the University of Maine defeat Appalachian State University, 34-12, in a NCAA Football Championship Subdivision second-round playoff game n Boone, NC. The Black Bears (9-3) advance to the quarterfinal round where it will play at Georgia Southern University, which is the 20-team tournament's No. 3-overall seed. Appalachian State finished the season 8-4 overall.

Senior tailback Pushaun Brown compiled 122-rushing yards on 24 carries and scored a touchdown, which put the game away as it gave Maine a 34-12 lead with 9:30 to go in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Damarr Aultman caught five passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. Both of Aultman's touchdowns came in the first half and helped the Black Bears earn a 13-6 advantage heading into halftime.

Maine's defense held Appalachian State to just 246 total yards.
