Davidson 35, UMass 29: Minutemen Struggling Against Wildcats

After a 9-0 UMass run to tie the game at 26, Davidson takes a 35-29 lead into the break after some poor shot selections by the Minutemen. UMass hit just 35 percent of their shots in the first half, 3-9 from behind the arc and just 50 percent of their free throw attempts against a very talented Wildcats side.

Raphiael Putney leads the Minutemen with 10 points, eight of which came in the opening minutes of the game. Fellow sophomore Jesse Morgan added seven points and two assists, while point guard Chaz Williams struggled with just three points on 1-of-6 shooting.

Davidson was led by De’Mon Brooks who tallied 10 points and four rebounds but was taken out late in the first half after hobbling on the court. Point guard Tom Droney added six assists and no turnovers for the Wildcats.
