Freshman center Andre Drummond has netted a team-best 10 points to help the No. 9-ranked Connecticut Huskies earn a 43-24 halftime lead over the Holy Cross Crusaders in a non-conference game XL Center, Hartford, CT. Drummond also has collected four rebounds, while junior forward Alex Oriakhi and sophomore guard Jeremy Lamb both have tallied eight points for UConn (8-1).
Junior guard R.J. Evans has scored a team-best eight points for Holy Cross (4-6), which took an early 13-12 advantage with 12:12 remaining in the first half. However, the Crusaders hot shooting went cold and the Huskies outscored Holy Cross 31-9 to take a commanding lead into the locker room.
So far, UConn has outrebounded Holy Cross, 22-13, and forced nine turnovers from the Crusaders.
Sophomore forward Tyler Olander has netted six points for the Huskies, while Lamb has tallied three steals.
