Bruins Vs. Flyers: Sans Captain, Philly Looks To Stomp Out B's

With the Eastern Conference lead on the line, the Bruins and the Flyers will face off today at 1 p.m., and one of the teams will leave the game without a winning streak anymore.

Once again the top two teams in the Eastern Conference will duke it out--the Big Bad Bruins and the Broad Street Bullies. The B's will have to try and faceoff against a team that hasn't lost in the month of December. The Flyers are on a seven-game winning streak, outscoring their opponents 30-17 despite losing their captain Chris Pronger, who hasn't played a single game in their undefeated streak. The last time he stepped out onto the ice for the Flyers was back on November 19 against Winnipeg.

The Bruins on the other hand have a three-game winning streak including two games in which their all-star defenseman Zdeno Chara was out of the lineup with a lower body injury. In that span, the B's have outscored their opponents 13-5.

Luckily for Boston, Chara should be expected to play in tomorrow afternoon's game, while the Flyers are without Pronger for the rest of the season and Claude Giroux who was diagnosed with a concussion after being hit in the head by teammate Wayne Simmonds' knee.

The puck drops at 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on NESN and NHL Network and aired on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
