Patriots Wednesday Injury Update: Defensive Starters Patrick Chung And Brandon Spikes Miss Practice

The New England Patriots were without injured starters Brandon Spikes and Patrick Chung at their Wednesday practice.

The New England Patriots were missing a pair of defensive starters at practice Wednesday, when safety Patrick Chung (foot) and linebacker Brandon Spikes (knee) both sat out with injuries sustained in this past Sunday's loss to the Giants.

Linebacker Dane Fletcher (thumb) and offensive lineman Ryan Wendell (concussion) also did not participate.

Wide receiver Wes Welker made limited participation with a ribs injury, as did cornerback Kyle Arrington (foot), defensive end Shaun Ellis (rib), running back Kevin Faulk (knee), running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis (toe), linebacker Gary Guyton (shoulder), linebacker Jerod Mayo (knee), wide receiver Taylor Price (hamstring) and offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer (back).

In other Patriots news, safety Josh Barrett was placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday after he injured his calf Sunday against the Giants. Sterling Moore was promoted from the practice team squad in order to replace him.
