Delaware used their length and athleticism for 35 minutes to hold a slim lead but the Terriers outlasted the Blue Hens 73-67 behind 27 points from Darryl Partin. It was Partin who scored 16 second-half points including four in a row to extend BU’s’ lead to a game-high seven with 2:30 remaining.
Travis Robinson finished with a career-high 16 points in 27 minutes before fouling out for the Terriers. Point guard D.J. Irving continued his strong play with eight points and 11 assists.
Devon Saddler, the nation’s leading scorer, was held to 20 points in the loss and was silent throughout most of the second half.
