2011 Bowl Projections: UConn Football A Victory Away From Becoming Postseason Eligible

The University of Connecticut football program not only ruined the BCS hopes of Rutgers University Saturday with a 40-22 drubbing of its Big East Conference foe, but it also improved its overall record to 5-6 keeping its postseason hopes alive heading into the final week of the regular season. The Huskies, who face the University of Cincinnati Saturday at noon, need one more victory so they can become eligible for the postseason.

If UConn beats Cincy, SB Nation's Off Tackle Empire believes the Huskies will play in the New Orleans Bowl against the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns. However, beating Cincinnati, which has been one of the top teams in the Big East this season, will be easier said than done.

Meanwhile, at 4-8 overall the Boston College Eagles, which finished its season Friday with a 24-17 victory over the University of Miami, can't qualify for a bowl game.
