The pairings for the seventh annual Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game was decided Saturday, as Virginia Tech routed the University of Virgina, 38-0, to win the league's Coastal Division title. The Hokies (11-1, 7-1) will face Clemson University (9-2, 6-2), which last week clinched the Atlantic Division, in the title game, Saturday, Dec. 3, at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC. The contest will be televised on ESPN. The winner will earn the right to play in the Bowl Championship Series' Orange Bowl, Jan. 4.
For Virginia Tech, ranked No. 6 in the AP Poll and No. 6 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, will be playing in its fifth ACC championship contest. The Hokies won the title game in 2007, '08 and '09. Meanwhile, Clemson, ranked No. 18 in the AP Poll and No. 17 in the USA Today/Coaches Poll, will be making its second appearance in the championship game. In '09, the Tigers lost to Georgia Tech, 39-34.
