Cornell 71, Boston University 66: Terriers Fail To Complete Comeback, Fall to 0-3

Boston University had three chances to take the lead with less than three minutes to play but came up just short. After trailing by as many as 13, Boston University couldn’t convert down the stretch and fell to 0-3 as the Big Red hit their free throws down the stretch in an 71-66 victory.

Darryl Partin had a huge game for the second season in a row against Cornell with 29 points, including 17 in the second half. Two other Terriers finished in double figures and the team played some of their best basketball of the season but couldn’t overcome a Cornell team that had two runs of 10 or more points unanswered.

The Big Red were led by Drew Ferry who finished with 14 points including nine points in the middle of a 20-0 Cornell run. Despite being outrebounded and being unable to slow down the Terriers’ parade to the free throw line, the Big Red came away with the victory by forcing 16 Terrier turnovers.

Boston University will be back in action Friday when they take on Cleveland State as part of the TicketCity Legends Classic.
