NFL Power Rankings, Week 9: Patriots Fall To No. 4 After Loss To Steelers

The New England Patriots lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers this past weekend and dropped a spot to No. 4 in this week's SB Nation NFL power rankings.

After falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers this past Sunday, the New England Patriots dropped a spot in this week's edition of the SB Nation NFL power rankings. After settling at No. 3 last week, the Patriots are now ranked No. 4, a slip SB Nation NFL editor Joel Thurman attributed to a defensive unit he feels does not rank with the best in the league.

New England's upcoming opponent, the New York Giants, held steady at the No. 10 spot while their fellow MetLife Stadium occupants, the New York Jets, moved up a spot to No. 12 over their bye week. The Buffalo Bills joined the Patriots as AFC East teams in the top 10 by climbing a spot to No. 9, while the winless Miami Dolphins brought up the rear by remaining dead last among the NFL's 32 teams.

Pittsburgh's win catapulted the Steelers to No. 3, but the list was topped once again by the undefeated Green Bay Packers, who were followed by the San Francisco 49ers at No. 2.
