Former Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona might not be managing in the playoffs this year, but he'll still have a front row source thanks to FOX. Francona has been hired by the network to be an analyst during the ALCS which begins this weekend.
The move comes on the heels of the news that Tim McCarver will be unable to perform on the broadcasts thanks to a medical issue that prevents him from being able to travel.
McCarver is expected to be able to re-join the broadcasts sometime around Game 3 ALCS, so it's possible that this appointment could be a short one for Francona, who hasn't decided whether he'd like to manage another club next year.
Francona and the Red Sox organization decided to part ways after a season that the team give away a nine game lead in the race for the Wild Card over the final month of the season.
