Red Sox Minor League Coach Tom Goodwin Joins Mets

If you thought the personnel losses for the Red Sox this offseason were over, think again. Tom Goodwin, four-year veteran of the Lowell Spinners' coaching staff, has been lured away by the Mets to become the team's first base coach.


Goodwin, an Olympic gold medal winner with the 1988 USA baseball team, spent 14 years in the MLB between six different teams, stealing over 300 bases over the course of his career.He spent a short time in an independent league after retirement before signing up with the Lowell Spinners in 2008.
