Marco Scutaro To Play Despite MRI Results

Marco Scutaro will take the field with the Red Sox after missing Monday's game despite an MRI revealing "tears," according to Scott Lauber.

While Scutaro will likely not need surgery to fix the tears, which will apparently not be aggravated by his return to action, Scutaro will be moved to second base, giving him an easier throw to first.

Scutaro has plenty of career experience at second base, last seeing significant time there in 2008 (354 innings). Jed Lowrie will move over to shortstop in the meantime.

For a very injured Red Sox team, Marco Scutaro has managed to play nearly every game this year despite suffering plenty of aches and pains himself. It doesn't seem like he'll be bucking that trend anytime soon.
