Not so fast on that Tom Brady extension.
ESPN's Adam Schefter quotes two "knowledgeable people" in a tweet when he says that reports of an imminent deal are "'inaccurate' and 'wrong.'"
Earlier on Tuesday, the Boston Herald reported that Brady was close to signing to a three-year extension with the Patriots for $58 million.
In his noon press conference, Bill Belichick was his typical self, saying, "I don't have anything to report on any contracts."
Popular opinion has long thought that if Brady were to ink an extension, it would happen before the Patriots' season opener, Sept. 12.
