Tom Brady Contract Extension With Patriots Is 'Imminent'

According to Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald, a contract extension between Tom Brady and the New England Patriots is "imminent."

The contract is slated to be a three-year extension at $58 million dollars, and could be agreed to in the next 24 hours, says Rapoport.

While this deal would make Brady the league's highest-paid quarterback, it likely won't last long, as Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is due for a contract extension this season, and team owner Jim Irsay has made it quite clear that he expects Manning to break the $20-million-per-year mark.

Manning's brother, Eli, is currently the NFL's highest paid quarterback.

Earlier on Tuesday, WEEI's Dennis & Callahan show reported Brady and the Patriots has made "tremendous progress" toward a new deal, and that it is "almost done."
