BC, BU, and Harvard Basketball Make Pre-Season List of Top 144 Teams for 2010-11

Now that colleges have started up for the fall semester, writers all over the internet have begun listing their pre-season rankings for Division I college basketball. CollegeHoops.net is one of those sites releasing their in-depth rankings and previews this week, and the site has three Boston area schools in their Top 144 Teams listing so far. Boston College, Boston University and Harvard are all entrenched in the #100-115 span, with BC tops at 108, and Harvard and BU listed at 114 and 115 respectfully.

The Eagles are projected as the tenth team in the ACC, and CollegeHoops.net blames this on the absence of guard Rakim Sanders:

"Assuming the freshmen are not ready to contribute major minutes right away, this is the same team as last year but without a double digit scorer in Sanders. A year older and a year wiser can only take Boston College so far."

The site predicts Harvard to finish tops in the Ivy League, but says that the Crimson need "to find some depth up front." Transfer-heavy BU is picked to be runner-up in America East, but the preview notes,

"With ten newcomers on the roster, Boston U will be hard to figure out until they get on the floor and play."

The site is only up to previewing its 106th team, so Boston's other D1 men's basketball program, Northeastern, could still make an appearance.
