So much for call-ups being over. About a week after the end of the minor league regular season, the Red Sox have called up left-handed pitcher Rich Hill, according to Peter Abraham.
After a strong 2007 with the Chicago Cubs, Rich Hill has been plagued by a lack of control, putting him out of the major leagues for most of the last few seasons. The Red Sox signed him to a minor league contract back in Late June. Since then, he has put up a 3.74 ERA in 53 innings, striking out 55 batters and offering up 29 free passes.
