On Friday, the Patriots named their captains for the 2010 season.
↵The four captains are Tom Brady, Kevin Faulk, Vince Wilfork and second-year LB Jerod Mayo.
↵Bill Belichick's explanation only went so far as to say, "Those are the four. We have four team captains ... they represent everybody. They represent the entire team."
↵↵↵Brady, Wilfork, and Mayo were three of the five team co-captains in 2009, and Faulk served in the role one other time, back in 2007. The only differences are that WR Randy Moss is no longer a co-captain, and there is no designated special teams captain. WR Sam Aiken held that position a year ago, taking it over from LB Larry Izzo, who had left via free agency for the New York Jets.
