2010 Red Sox September Call-Ups: Patterson, Richardson And Saltalamacchia Added To Roster

With rosters expanding Wednesday, the Boston Red Sox have recalled Dustin Richardson, Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Eric Patterson from Triple-A Pawtucket, per a Scott Lauber tweet.

This first round is just the Red Sox getting back to full strength -- or as close to it as possible -- recalling back-ups who were shuffled around due to injuries and returns. With the Pawtucket Red Sox set to play their last game on Monday, September 6, it will likely be a few days before the Sox begin calling up more rookies to give them a cup of coffee in the majors.

In a nine game rehab stint with Pawtucket after suffering an infection in his leg, Jarrod Saltalamacchia has managed a line of .278/.350/.500 with a home run, four walks, and nine strikeouts. Eric Patterson has only hit .235/.278/.471 in four games, while Dustin Richardson has thrown seven scoreless innings with eight strikeouts and three walks.
