Bill Belichick took time in Wednesday's press conference to address play of rookie linebacker Brandon Spikes, saying of the former Florida Gator that he has "some unique skills ... It's kind of not by the book, but effective." He added, "I'm not really sure what his style is."
This evaluation was news to Spikes.
"That surprised me when ya'll said that," said Spikes after Wednesday's training camp afternoon session.
"I just try to play the game the old-school way, I can say that," Spikes said after practice today. "Guys just play aggressive (in New England) and I try to mold myself after that."
