2010-11 NBA Schedule: Celtics Will Host Heat Opening Night As League Announces Marquee Games

Tuesday night, the NBA released its schedule of marquee games for the 2010-11 season, and as was rumored and expected, the Celtics will indeed open the new campaign by hosting the Miami Heat in Boston.

LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh's debut as Miami teammates was really the only tip-off choice, and the Heat's 2010-11 tour gets started against the squad they're aiming for in the revved-up Eastern Conference. Count on the Boston Celtics gearing up for a rude welcome for the South Beach glamour boys in the first nationally-televised game of the season.

The NBA made public its schedule for the opening week, Christmas Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. After the Heat-Celtics game on Opening Night, the Rockets will visit the defending NBA champion Lakers.

The Celtics are involved in two more marquee games:

  • Dec. 25, 2:30 p.m. EST: Celtics at Magic (ABC)
  • Jan. 17, 8 p.m. EST: Magic at Celtics (NBA TV)

Visit SB Nation for a complete list of the marquee games. The full schedule will be released Aug. 10.
