Mark Herzlich made his long-awaited return to the Boston College practice field on Saturday. He is expected to be in pads for Tuesday's session, and there's hope he'll be ready in time for the Eagles' 2010 opener against Weber State this weekend.
Herzlich sat out the 2009 season while he battled Ewing's Sarcoma, a form of bone cancer, and has not played in a game since December of 2008. he had not practiced this summer because of a stress fracture in his foot, but an MRI on Friday showed that it had healed (enough, at least).
