Celtics Will Reportedly Open 2010-11 NBA Season At Home Against Heat

The NBA is set to release the schedule of "marquee games" for the 2010-11 season Tuesday night at 7 P.M. EDT, but already rumored matchups are beginning to leak out.

Most notably, according to league sources, the Celtics will open the NBA season at home against the new improved Miami Heat on Oct. 26. The game will be nationally televised on TNT.

It will be the first look at revamped Heat team, who added Chris Bosh and LeBron James during the offseason, and a game that could likely be a very early preview of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Additionally, Brian Windhorst is reporting that the Celtics will be in action again Oct. 27, traveling to Cleveland for the Cavaliers' home-opener.

Based on rumors and reports, the early part of the NBA schedule looks like this:

  • Heat at Celtics, October 26th
  • Wizards at Magic, October 27th
  • Celtics at Cavaliers, October 27th
  • Rockets at Lakers, TBD
  • Heat at Magic, October 28th

The Celtics beat the Heat in five games in the first round of the playoffs this past season, and then downed the Cavs in six games in the Conference Semifinals.

The complete NBA regular-season schedule will be unveiled on NBA.com Aug. 10.
