Considering he is annoying teammates and coaches alike in the dugout, it's good news for all involved that Tuesday was Dustin Pedroia's best day of rehab.
The progress shown by Pedroia in Toronto has resulted in a new timetable for his return: assuming all continues to go well (and with medical clearance), the second baseman will play for Pawtucket on Saturday and Sunday and then start for the Boston club in exactly one week, when the Red Sox return home Aug. 17.
Pedroia is scheduled for a medical exam Friday in Boston, which will determine his weekend's availability.
