With all of the injuries recently with the Red Sox, it was understandable if the worst was assumed when Tuesday nights game gave a scare from Kevin Youkilis. However, according to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe, Youkilis should be fine and ready to get back in the lineup Wednesday night.
The hopeful All-Star injured his ankle in the bottom of the third while playing first base, and it continued to bother him when he came up to bat in the next inning.
"It felt like I had a cramp in my ankle," Youkilis said. "It's the most strange thing ever."
Fortunately, post-game x-rays were negative, and he should be ready to go tonight. It looks like the Red Sox dodged another bullet.
