The 2010 MLB All-Star Game rosters were officially announced on Sunday, and the Red Sox had six players included in the Midsummer Classic, though none in the starting lineup.
Jon Lester and Clay Buchholz were two of 13 pitchers named to the roster, while Adrian Beltre and David Ortiz were added to the bench. Dustin Pedroia and Victor Martinez were also selected, but will not be able to play because of injury.
Notice an omission? Like the guy who's leading the A.L. with 65 runs, third in the A.L. with a .416 OBP and fourth with a 1.000 OPS? Yep, no Kevin Youkilis in the All-Star Game (at least not yet).
Youkilis is one of the five players in the American League included in the 2010 MLB ALL-Star Game Sprint Final Vote, the voting that is open to fans, and decides the who fills the final roster spot for both All-Star rosters.
Along with Youkilis, fans can decide between, Paul Konerko, Nick Swisher, Delmon Young and Michael Young. Stop what you're doing and go vote now.
