The Celtics have found their replacement for Tom Thibodeau, the defensive assistant who left to takeover the Bulls. According to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski, Boston has hired former Nets head coach Lawrence Frank to become an assistant on the bench with Doc Rivers, says league sources.

Frank became the head coach of the Nets in 2003, and was at the helm until getting fired sixteen games into the 2009-10 season, when they started 0-16. He led New Jersey to the playoffs in his first four years, three times reaching the Conference Semifinals. He has a career record of 225-41, with his best season coming in 2005-06, when the Nets finished 49-33.

Most recently he served as an analyst for ESPN and NBA TV.
